Ingredients

Silent Herder uses only the highest quality ingredients in our products. All of our ingredients are filly available to the microbes in the remen and are therefore more efficient.

Macro-Minerals

All Silent Herder Mineral products provide the macro-minerals in the optimal ratio of 1.5 Calcium: 1 Phosphorus: 0.5 Magnesium. If these minerals are not fed in this ratio, serious imbalances can occur.

Phosphorous

We use mono-sodium phosphate as our only source of phosphorous in our minerals. Mono-sodium phsphate is the phosphorous ingredient to which all other are compared. It is 100% avaiable to the rumen microbes. Most other forms of phosphate used in ruminate minerals (dicalcium phosphate, sodium tripoly phosphate) are only 20%~25% available in the rumen. All Silent Herder Mineral Products sipply more than 25% of a mature/bred/lactating cow's phosphorus needs, which is more than what is required in even the most phosphorus deficient areas of the US and Canada.

Calcium & Magnesium

Silent Herder Mineral's only source of calcium and magnesium is Dycedol®. Dycedol® is 100% available to the rumen microbes. This highly available source of calcium and magnesium supplies more than is required in all but the most deficient areas of the US and Canada.

Salt

Silent Herder Minerals contain a trace mineral salt that is mined, not processed or evaporated. This mined salt is "sweet" and more palatable. Since consumption of Silent Herder is regulated withsalt it is important for the salt to have a pleasant flavor to avoid salt starvation in some animals.

Trace Minerals

Silent Herder "Plus TM" has added trace minerals. These trace minerals are of the highest quality and bio-availability. The added manganese, zinc, copper, and cobalt are at appropriate levels to meet NRC requirements for mature/bred/lactating cows. Organic iodine and selenium are also added at the maxium levels allowed by the NRC.
